Abstract
Cervical cancer is the fourth prevalent cancer in the world and the second prevalent cancer in Indonesia. Visual Inspection Acetic Acid (VIA) is a cervical cancer early detection program in Indonesia but its coverage still low. This study was conducted to determine factors that are associated with VIA behavior in 30-50 years old women at the Puskesmas Sawangan, Depok. This is an analytic observational study with a cross-sectional approach. The sample was 30-50 years old women at Puskesmas Sawangan with a total of 77 people. Sampling was done with consecutive-sampling technique. This study showed that most of the subjects had good knowledge (57.1%), negative attitude (58.4%), didn’t work (72.7%), multipara (57.1%), poor information access (76.6 %) %), didn’t get family support (53.2%), and never had a VIA test (83.1%). Bivariate test results show a significant relationship between parity (p-value = 0.005) and information access (p-value = 0.001) with VIA test behavior and no significant relationship between attitudes, knowledge, work, and family support with VIA behavior (p-value > 0.05). The multivariate test showed that parity was the most influential factor related to VIA behavior (OR = 9.106). The conclusion is the factors that have a relationship with the VIA examination are parity and information access, meanwhile knowledge, attitudes, work, and family support have no relationship with VIA behavior. Health workers are advised to actively providing information about cervical cancer and VIA examination.
