Abstract
The efficiency of the air conditioning system is something that needs to be considered in the operation of the machine. The researched water cooled chiller also uses a variable speed drive (VSD) as a component to save electricity consumption and reduce the resulting CO2 emissions. The refrigerant that is in the water cooled chiller cycle will be recorded at its temperature in the evaporator and condenser to be able to find out how efficient the water cooled chiller is used with coeffecient of performance (COP). And to measure current and voltage use a multimeter to find out the electrical power consumed. The results of this study indicate that the COP value has met the national efficiency standard, so that the performance of the refrigeration machine used can be said to be in an efficient condition. Because the COP value is a benchmark value for good or bad refrigeration performance The use of VSD is also important because it can save a total electric power of 380.16 kWh and can reduce total CO2 emissions by 275.616 kg CO2. The COP value can also affect CO2 emissions, where when the COP value is high, the CO2 emissions produced from the water cooled chiller tend to decrease and when the COP value is low, the CO2 emissions produced from the water cooled chiller are relatively high.
