Abstract
Elevated blood sugar levels are a typical symptom of diabetes mellitus. Conditions of high blood sugar levels that continue to have an impact on nerve damage, blood vessels, and organs. This study aims to determine the relationship of central obesity and physical activity with increased blood sugar levels in housewives in Kelurahan Limo during the Covid-19. The study used a cross-sectional study design and sampling technique, namely purposive sampling with a sample size of 145. Data were taken using a measuring tape, GPAQ questionnaire, and a glucometer with the easy touch brand which had been tested for validity and reliability. The results of the study using the Chi-Square Test showed that there was no relationship between central obesity and increased blood sugar levels (p value 0.149) and there was a significant relationship between physical activity and increased blood sugar levels (p value 0.025). The recommendation in this study is that there is a need for good collaboration from the community, health services, nurses and researchers to make various efforts to prevent diabetes in order to improve optimal health status.
