Abstract
In October 2020 the community was enlivened by the inauguration of the Job Creation Act by the Indonesian Parliament. People who feel aggrieved by this law held demonstrations for a whole month in various regions in Indonesia. The demonstration was attended by a number of Polri officers in accordance with their duties and obligations. The incident attracted the public's attention, therefore mass media such as online news portals covered this action. This study aims to find out how online news portals, especially.com and detik.com, frame news on the handling of the handling carried out by the Police and their staff. This study uses a qualitative research method with the view of construction and the use of social construction theory, then described descriptively using Robert N Entman's framing analysis model. The results showed that kompas.com and detik.com had differences in news framing. The online news portal kompas.com described the handling carried out by the National Police and their staff as not appropriate to take aggressive and repressive actions against the masses, while the online news portal detik.com described the handling of demonstrations carried out by the Police and their staff in accordance with the duties and obligations of the Police, as regulated by law. RI No. 2 of 2002.
