Abstract

The benefits of advances in science and information technology can be greatly felt. Almost everyone now has a device that they can use to download and access several social medias and even run an online business. One of the most used social medias is Instagram. Lots of Instagram users use this social media to communicate, do business, and so on. Easy access to Instagram makes this social media very popular, but unfortunately, on several occasions Instagram has even been used by irresponsible users to commit crimes, one of which is content theft for commercial purposes. This is a copyright violation and causes a lot of harm to the victims. This study will use a normative juridical research method that is descriptive analytical using secondary data with some legal materials. It is hoped that for further research, it can be studied more widely to solve the case that is being raised.
