Abstract

Chronic kidney failure is a disorder that occurs in renal function where the kidneys cannot remove the remnants of metabolic substances and water. Non-compliance with patients is very influential in increasing the risk of unwanted death. This study aims to determine the factors associated with adherence to undergo hemodialysis in patients with chronic kidney failure. This study uses a non-systematic literature review research method and a literature search using the Pubmed, Sciencedirect, and Scholar databases found 10 journals in accordance with the inclusion criteria. The results of the search for 10 journals contained three first group divisions which included factors related to adherence to undergo hemodialysis in patients with chronic renal failure according to demographic data namely age, sex, level of education, religion, knowledge and period of hemodialysis. The second includes factors related to adherence to undergo hemodialysis in patients with chronic renal failure according to the conditions and behavior undergoing hemodialysis, namely vascular access, self efficacy, acceptance, motivation, coping mechanisms. Third includes the factors related to adherence to undergo hemodialysis in supporting patients with chronic renal failure namely the frequency of education from health workers the importance of dialysis sessions, patient perception, social support, family support. Conclusion: a factor that is very influential on adherence to undergo hemodialysis is family support.
