Abstract

Orangutan populations that are increasingly threatened with extinction from their habitat, the reason is becauses the loss of their rainforest habitat as their natural habitat and also humans irresponsible behavior. This issue has been brought to global attention, in the form of community roles, stakeholders and NGOs in this regard, the role of private companies in protecting Indonesia's forest ecosystems will be very helpful, such as the involvement of PanEco PanEco is a non-governmental organization engaged in orangutan conservation, especially Sumatran orangutan (Pongo Abelii). The activities carried out by PanEco in Indonesia are present through The Sumatran Orangutan Conservation Program (SOCP). The main objectives of the Organization are to conserve biodiversity, sustainable use of natural resources, environmental education, improvement of the community's economic level and the promotion of intercultural exchanges. As an organization that handles ecological balance and social stability, PanEco has an important position in environmental issues. With the increasingly endangered population of orangutans, this problem will be caught by the environmentalists in the national and international sector. Therefore, conservation cooperation is needed. PanEco as one of the international organizations that focus on the environment helps the Government of Indonesia in overcoming the extinction of Orngutan. So the purpose of this research is to explain PanEco's collaboration in the Sumatran Orangutan Conservation Program in Indonesia for the 2015-2018 period. The perspectives used in this study are International Organizational Theory, INGO and international collaboration. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative using data collection through literature studies obtained from primary sources that describe which describes the research problem empirically.
