Abstract

Diabetes Mellitus has 2 types of causative problems namely microvascular and macrovascular. One of the microvascular complications that is very often found is neuropathy in Diabetes Mellitus. Neuropathy is a frequent complication of diabetes mellitus, which attacks the extremity nerves, especially in the legs. This study uses a non-systematic literature review study research method and a literature search using the Pubmed, Sciencedirect, and Scholar databases. The initial study search results obtained as many as 443 studies which then go through the PICOS screening stage. Only 6 studies have been screened. The results of the study are the relationship of glycemic control with the incidence of peripheral neuropathy. Proven from several journals. Conclusion Nueropathy is a complication of diabetes mellitus from microvascular factors besides other complications. It is retinopathy, peripheral neuropathy, diabetic nephropathy, peripheral arterial disease, and anatomic deformity. Characteristic factors that can affect neuropathy are age, sex, body mass index or obesity, duration or duration of diabetes mellitus.
