Abstract

Fishing vessel is a vessel used to catch fish. Fishing vessel becomes the solution of the problem of lack of fish catchment in North Sumatra where the number of fishes is declining annually, due to the basic material of the vessel, the number of fishing vessels are small in size. The fishing vessel departs from the ocean fishing port (PPS) Belawan to the fishery ground in the Straits of Malacca. The ship of this design has the main size of LOA = 25.2 m, LPP = 23.2 m, B = 7 m, H = 3.4 m, T = 2.8 m, LWL = 24.1 m, CB = 0.52, CM = 0.81, CP = 0.79, CW = 0.75, GT = 140 tonnage and Service speed = 10 knots. In the design, there are several planning stages, namely main size calculations, making line plans, hydrostatic analysis, barriers and propulsion calculations, making general plans, construction calculations, calculation of strength, stability calculations to the last stage of ship launching planning. The ship is using a capture tool (purse seine) which is an environmentally friendly capture device and easy to operate. The Fishing gear used is Net stacker, net winch, net chute, net drum winch, deck crane, purse block, net hopper, purse seine net.
