Abstract
Indonesia is one of the countries with a high risk of disasters therefore, nursing students, as future healthcare professionals, need to possess adequate disaster literacy, positive attitudes, and good readiness to respond to disaster situations. To analyze the relationship between disaster literacy level and attitudes and disaster readiness among Diploma III Nursing students at Universitas Pembangunan Nasional "Veteran" Jakarta. This study employed a quantitative descriptive correlational design with a cross-sectional approach. Total sampling was used to recruit 208 students. The research instruments included the Disaster Literacy Scale (DLS) and the Attitude and Readiness to Practice (ArP) questionnaire. Data were analyzed using Spearman's rank correlation test. Most respondents had adequate to excellent disaster literacy (43.3%), high attitude (60.1%), and high readiness (75%). There was a significant positive correlation between disaster literacy and attitudes (p<0.001; ρ=0.656), indicating a strong correlation, and a significant positive correlation between disaster literacy and disaster readiness (p<0.001; ρ=0.590), indicating a moderate correlation. Higher levels of disaster literacy were associated with better attitudes and greater disaster readiness among nursing students. Therefore, disaster literacy should be continuously enhanced through education and training to strengthen nursing students' competencies in disaster management.
