Abstract
This study describes the effect of changes in the BI Rate on the profitability of PT Bank Pembangunan Daerah Jawa Barat dan Banten Tbk (Bank BJB) for the 2021-2025 period. Data was collected from Bank BJB's annual financial statements and Bank Indonesia publications, and then analyzed quantitatively descriptively using the ratio of ROA, ROE, and NIM. The results show that in the BI Rate increase period (2022-2024), NIM decreased from 5.86% to 3.83%, ROA decreased from 1.75% to 0.86%, and ROE declined from 18.63% to 9.57%. This profitability pressure was caused by incomplete interest rate pass-through: deposit interest expense jumped 106% while loan interest income only grew 16% due to the dominance of fixed-rate ASN consumer loans. Conversely, when the BI Rate falls in 2025, the deposit burden immediately falls while credit income continues to grow, proving the asymmetry of transmission. These findings contradict the aggregate results that stated that the BI Rate has a positive effect on NIM, confirming that the impact of monetary policy is berbeda-bedaeous and depends on the specific characteristics of the bank.
