Abstract
The garment manufacturing industry is a labor-intensive subsector that is highly dependent on human workforce performance, making it particularly susceptible to human error. This study aims to analyze the relationship between work fatigue and situational awareness levels on the occurrence of human error among cutting operators at CV. XYZ. A descriptive correlational approach was employed with purposive sampling, involving 20 respondents. Data were collected using three questionnaire instruments: the Fatigue Assessment Scale (FAS) for work fatigue, the Situational Awareness Rating Technique (SART) for situational awareness, and the Human Error Questionnaire for measuring human error risk. Data analysis was conducted using Spearman's rho correlation test. The results indicate that work fatigue has a moderate positive correlation with human error (r = 0.415), while situational awareness exhibits a weak negative correlation with human error (r = −0.231) and work fatigue (r = −0.017). Overall, work fatigue demonstrates a stronger association with human error compared to situational awareness. This study recommends the implementation of a Fatigue Monitoring System along with improvements in ergonomic and occupational safety aspects to minimize the risk of human error in garment manufacturing environments.
