Abstract

Bakmi Tjoi is a micro, small, and medium enterprise (MSME) in the culinary sector that still applies a manual ordering process. This process often causes queues at the cashier area, slows down services, and increases the risk of recording errors. This study aims to develop a web-based self-ordering information system using the Laravel framework to improve the efficiency of the ordering process at Bakmi Tjoi. The system was developed using the Rapid Application Development (RAD) method because it supports fast development through an iterative approach. The system was built using Laravel and MySQL and integrated with the Midtrans payment gateway to support online payments. In addition, the system is equipped with a QR Code feature that allows customers to access the ordering page through smartphones. System testing was conducted using Black Box Testing and User Acceptance Test (UAT). The results indicate that the developed system is capable of improving the ordering process to become faster and more integrated. Based on Time on Task testing, the average ordering process using the system ranged from 4 to 8 minutes, which is faster than the previous manual ordering process that required approximately 5 to 10 minutes.
