Abstract

As one of the world's largest coal exporters, Indonesia plays a strategic role in global energy trade. This study aims to analyze the effect of implicit coal export prices, Gross Domestic Product (GDP), exchange rates, and population of destination countries on Indonesia's coal export volume to its five main trading partners, namely India, China, Japan, South Korea, and Malaysia for the period 2010–2024. This study uses a quantitative approach with secondary panel data. The results show that simultaneously all four variables have a significant effect on Indonesia's coal export volume. Partially, exchange rate and population have a positive and significant effect, while implicit coal export prices and GDP have a positive and insignificant effect.
