Abstract
The implementation of summative evaluation plays an important role in measuring students’ learning outcomes. SMAIT Nurul Fajri has implemented a limited online examination system; however, the overall exam management remains partial and not fully integrated, as the processes of document preparation, validation, and essay assessment are still conducted manually, which may lead to inefficiency, delays, and errors. This study aims to design and develop an examination management information system that integrates all stages of the summative examination process in a more effective and structured manner. The method used is the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) with the Waterfall model, requirement analysis using the PIECES method, and system design using Unified Modeling Language (UML). The system is implemented using HTML, CSS, PHP, JavaScript, and MySQL, supported by XAMPP and the Bootstrap framework. The results show that the developed system facilitates exam document management, supports a more systematic validation process, and improves students’ experience in taking exams. In addition, the system integrates assessment and document archiving processes in a centralized manner. Based on Black-box testing, all system functions operate in accordance with user requirements, indicating that the system improves efficiency, effectiveness, and organization in the implementation of summative evaluation at SMAIT Nurul Fajri.
