Abstract

Background: Schizophrenia is a chronic, severe mental disorder affecting human thought, emotion, and behavior, with a continuously increasing prevalence rate. A primary issue frequently emerging in schizophrenic patients is social isolation. This clinical manifestation was observed in Mr. P at RSKD Duren Sawit, characterized by social withdrawal, limited verbal communication, and reluctance to engage in environmental interactions. Objective: This case study aims to provide a comprehensive description of nursing care for Mr. P presented with social isolation. Methods: The design of this Scientific Paper utilized a descriptive case study approach. Clinical data collection was conducted through interviewing, direct observation, and documentary review during five days of inpatient care. Results: The implementation of Socialization Nursing Care Plans 1-3 demonstrated a significant improvement in Mr. P's social interaction skills. The patient initiated eye contact and gradually engaged in introductions. Conclusion: Delivering nursing care by applying socialization strategies is proven effective in enhancing the socializing abilities of patients. Suggestions: Hospital authorities and nursing personnel are expected to continuously motivate and facilitate consistent social interactions for the patient to prevent relapse risks.
