Abstract

The development of social media has made it an effective medium for information dissemination and public education, particularly among Generation Z. TikTok is currently one of the most widely used social media platforms, offering diverse content, including discussions on fast fashion, which has negative impacts on the environment and promotes consumptive behavior. The TikTok account @dosen_fashyun serves as a content creator that consistently provides educational content about the dangers of fast fashion and encourages audiences to stop using it. This study aims to examine the influence of the TikTok account @dosen_fashyun’s content on Generation Z’s awareness of the call to stop using fast fashion. The results indicate that, for Variable X, the Audio & Visual and Language Use dimensions received the highest evaluations, while the Content Concept dimension received the lowest evaluation related to the novelty of the theme. For Variable Y, the Non-Judging of Inner Experience dimension received the highest evaluation, whereas the Describing dimension received the lowest. This study applies the Elaboration Likelihood Model (ELM), which explains that the content of the TikTok account @dosen_fashyun is processed by Generation Z through both central and peripheral routes, thereby increasing awareness of fast fashion issues.
