Abstract
Breakfast is an important daily meal that contributes to meeting energy and nutrient requirements, which may influence concentration and nutritional status among adolescents. This study aimed to examine the relationship between breakfast quality, concentration level, and nutritional status among students at MAN 4 Pandeglang. This research employed a quantitative method with a cross-sectional design. The population consisted of tenth and eleventh grade students at MAN 4 Pandeglang, with a total sample of 116 respondents selected using Sample Size 2.0 software. Data were collected through structured questionnaires and a 2×24-hour breakfast dietary recall. Data analysis included univariate analysis to describe respondent characteristics and bivariate analysis using the Chi-Square test. The results showed that most respondents were 16 years old (48.3%). Only 32.8% of students consumed breakfast consistently over two days, while 31.0% did not consume breakfast at all. Most respondents had low to moderate concentration levels, whereas the majority had normal nutritional status (69.0%). The Chi-Square test indicated no significant relationship between breakfast energy intake and concentration level (p = 0.639), nor between breakfast carbohydrate intake and nutritional status based on BMI (p = 0.286). In conclusion, breakfast quality showed no significant association with concentration level or nutritional status.
