Abstract
Academic achievement is an indicator of student progress or success in an educational program. Academic achievement is a benchmark for determining whether students will be successful in the future or not. Academic achievement is influenced by internal and external factors such as nutritional intake. Good nutritional intake plays an important role in improving intellectual abilities that affect academic achievement. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between breakfast habits and the academic achievement of students at SMP Negeri 2 Jakarta. The research design used was quantitative descriptive with a cross-sectional approach involving 163 seventh and eighth grade students using stratified random sampling. Statistical analysis was performed using the chi-square test. The results showed that there was a relationship between breakfast frequency (p-value = 0.000) and omega-3 frequency (p-value = 0.000) with academic achievement. There was no significant relationship between energy intake (p-value = 0.636), protein (p-value = 0.537), fat (p-value = 0.158), and carbohydrates (p-value = 0.562) and the academic achievement of students at SMP Negeri 2 Jakarta.
