Abstract
This study explains the limitations of Niccolo Machiavelli's theory of realism through the observation of the Game of Thrones series which focuses on the character of Cersei Lannister. Cersei, who leads her reign with violence and power may seem like the ideal prince discussed by Machiavelli in his book 'Il Principe' on the surface. Machiavelli's theory in International Relations provides a framework for analyzing the limitations of the theory based on the character of Cersei Lannister. Based on the analysis of Cersei Lannister's characterization in the Game of Thrones series, it proves that Machiavelli's theory of realism if applied to a leader figure without wisdom and caution will bring destruction to the leader who applies it, as well as the country or region affected.
