Abstract
This study aims to determine the role of Bawaslu in handling money politics cases in East Jakarta in the 2024 Election. Elections have become a political routine in Indonesia and are a reflection of a democratic country. However, in its implementation, elections are often used as a means of power struggle by political elites, with various means to gain people's votes, including through direct approaches, social activities, to practices that violate ethics and law, such as identity politics, terror against voters, vote manipulation, and money politics. This study examines the role of Bawaslu in handling money politics cases in East Jakarta in the 2024 Election using qualitative research methods with primary and secondary data sources. Data collection techniques include interviews and literature studies in the form of books, news, and previous research journals relevant to this research. There is a conformity between the role carried out by Bawaslu East Jakarta with the theory of electoral integrity in handling money politics cases. The research found that the role of the East Jakarta Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu) in handling vote buying violations in the 2024 Election has not been effective because there is still a gap between electoral integrity norms and monitoring practices in the field.
