Abstract
ICU treatment often triggers Post-Intensive Care Syndrome (PICS), which diminishes a patient's quality of life. Family support is considered a crucial factor that can influence the quality of life in post-ICU patients. This study aims to analyze the relationship between family support and the quality of life of post-ICU patients. Utilizing a correlational design with a cross-sectional approach, this study involved 52 respondents selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using the Family Support questionnaire and the WHOQOL-BREF, then analyzed using the Spearman Rank test. The results showed that the majority of respondents received high family support (67.3%) and had a good quality of life (59.6%). Statistical testing yielded a p-value of 0.001 with an r-value of 0.451. It can be concluded that there is a significant and positive correlation with a moderate strength of association between family support and patient quality of life. This indicates that higher family support correlates with a better quality of life for the patient, and vice versa. Families are encouraged to consistently provide support; one of the most applicable and impactful forms is emotional support, which bolsters motivation and long-term recovery of quality of life following critical care. Keywords: Family Support, PICS, Post-ICU, Quality of Life.
