Abstract
Partai Demokrasi Indonesia Perjuangan (PDI Perjuangan) is one of the political parties with a large mass base in DKI Jakrta with extensive experience in participating in legislative elections. However, the 2024 legislative election was a different year for PDI Perjuangan, which experienced a decline in votes. This study aims to analyze the causes of the decline in the PDI Perjuangan votes in the Jakarta Regional Representative Council using Peter Mair and Richard Katz’s Political Party Organization theory. The research method used is qualitative through descriptive analysis. The data sources used consisted of primary and secondary data, obtained from interviews, literature studies, and documentation. This study found that the decline in votes experienced by PDI Perjuangan in the 2024 legislative election in DKI Jakarta was caused by internal factors and the influence of external factors. Internal factors indicate the weakness of the party’s organization strength due to conflicts between party members, centralized party leadership, and suboptimal utilization of resources. The conditions are certainly also influenced by external factors, namely fierce competition, the presence of money politic, misuse of state resources, and inequality in competition between political parties. Both factors have impacted the decline in the political image of the PDI Perjuangan as a mass party, caused by a shift in voter support following the direction of the 2024 presidential election contest, thereby affecting the PDI Perjuangan’s vote count and number of seats in the Jakarta Regional Representative Council.
