Abstract

This study analyzes the success of Mujiyono, a Democratic Party incumbent, in securing his fourth consecutive seat in the DKI Jakarta Regional House of Representatives (DPRD) for District V during the 2024 Election. Utilizing a qualitative approach, the study reveals that Mujiyono implemented a combination of defensive and mixed strategies based on Peter Schroder's political theory. The defensive strategy focused on strengthening his long-standing support base through the provision of public facilities, economic assistance, and job creation. Meanwhile, the mixed strategy was adaptively executed through the "Temu Sapa" program, facilitating health and education services, and distributing social aid to attract new voters. The implementation of these dual strategies proved highly effective, as evidenced by a threefold surge in votes despite intense competition. This success underscores that consistency in tangible results, accountability, and sustained public service serves as the primary key to robust political consolidation at the local level.
