Abstract
West Papua Province ranks as the second lowest among the 34 provinces in Indonesia based on the Food Security Index in 2022. Although the IKP score remains relatively low, the province has shown a consistent upward trend each year. This study examines food security through two main indicators—social and economic access—which align with Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 2: Zero Hunger. The objective of the research is to identify the characteristics of each region in West Papua as a foundation for formulating appropriate policies. The method used is sustainability analysis with a Qualitative Comparative Analysis (QCA) approach, utilizing Tosmana software. The research population includes 13 regencies/cities in West Papua Province. The analysis results reveal three clusters with optimal food security, namely South Manokwari District, Sorong District, and the cluster consisting of Fakfak, Kaimana, and Raja Ampat. Conversely, four clusters exhibit non-optimal food security: Pegunungan Arfak and Tambrauw Regencies, Teluk Wondama cluster, Teluk Bintuni cluster, and Maybrat cluster. In addition, three contradictory clusters were identified, Sorong City, Manokwari District, and South Sorong District. The relationship between social and economic access conditions in each cluster can serve as a basis for local governments to formulate targeted programs to enhance food security in West Papua.
