Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effects of the exchange rate, the United States Consumer Price Index, and world cotton prices on Indonesia’s textile exports to the United States. Time series data are employed and analyzed using the Error Correction Model to examine both short-run and long-run relationships. The results indicate the existence of a long-run relationship, suggesting a structural linkage between macroeconomic factors and textile export performance. In the short run, changes in the exchange rate and the United States Consumer Price Index do not significantly affect textile exports, while world cotton prices show a positive effect. In the long run, the exchange rate has a positive influence on textile exports by improving price competitiveness, whereas the United States Consumer Price Index negatively affects export demand. World cotton prices remain positively associated with exports, reflecting the ability of the textile industry to adapt to changes in input costs. Overall, the findings suggest that textile export performance adjusts gradually in response to economic changes.
