Abstract
This study aims to examine how the Israel–Palestine conflict was framed in news coverage by CNN.com and CNNIndonesia.com using Robert Entman’s framing analysis model. The research employs a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. A total of 14 news articles from CNN.com and 14 news articles from CNNIndonesia.com related to the Israel–Palestine conflict during the period of May–August 2024 were analyzed. The findings of this study reveal that CNN.com and CNNIndonesia.com contained both neutral and pro-Palestinian tones in their coverage. CNN.com presented more neutral reporting on the Israel–Palestine conflict during the May–August 2024 period, as the platform provided balanced narratives for both Israel and Palestine and used diplomatically neutral language. In contrast, CNNIndonesia.com showed a more pro-Palestinian stance, as reflected in its limited presentation of Israeli perspectives and the use of emotionally charged terms that were not semantically neutral.
