Abstract

Sleep quality issues among university students have become increasingly significant due to growing academic demands and digital lifestyles. Poor sleep quality has been shown to negatively affect physical health, concentration, and academic performance. To address this, the study involves the design and development of a web-based sleep quality decision support system founded upon the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) and the Random Forest algorithm. Data was gathered via the PSQI questionnaire, processed through preprocessing, component scoring, and labeling. Using Random Forest, a classification model was trained and subsequently saved as a .pkl file for system integration. Results indicated 70.3% of students had poor sleep quality, with the model achieving 96.77% accuracy. This system is intended to function as a personalized and educational resource, empowering students to independently assess and enhance their sleep quality.
