Abstract
This study aims to analyze the effect of Production Planning and Machine Maintenance on Operational Performance at PT Alam Baja Nusantara (brand: PRIMA INTI TRUSS). The research background is based on deviations between planned and actual production, high levels of finished-product waste in the C-series machine line, and recurring downtime. This study applies a quantitative approach using a survey method with a causal design. The research population consists of division heads and staff involved in production and operational activities, and the total sampling technique includes all 25 employees as respondents. Data were collected using a Likert-scale questionnaire and analyzed using PLS-SEM with SmartPLS 4.0. Descriptive analysis results show that respondents’ perceptions of operational performance are 71.28%, production planning 72.80%, and machine maintenance 68.00%, each of which falls into the moderate category. Structural analysis results indicate that production planning has a positive effect on operational performance with a path coefficient of 0.690, while machine maintenance also has a positive effect on operational performance with a path coefficient of 0.272. Collectively, the contribution of production planning and machine maintenance to operational performance is indicated by an R-square value of 0.815 (81.50%), meaning that 81.50% of the variance in operational performance can be explained by these two variables, while the remaining 18.50% is influenced by other factors outside the research model.
