Abstract
The growth of the sharia-based motor vehicle financing industry in Indonesia faces challenges in the form of financing risks that have the potential to increase the Non-Performing Financing (NPF) ratio and disrupt the stability, profitability, and reputation of institutions. This study aims to analyze the implementation and implications of car financing risk management at the Sharia Business Unit (UUS) of PT Maybank Indonesia Finance and evaluate the mitigation strategies implemented to reduce the rate of problematic financing. This study is a qualitative study using descriptive analysis case study techniques. The data sources obtained are primary and secondary data. Primary data was obtained from direct interviews with PT Maybank Indonesia Finance. Meanwhile, secondary data was obtained from supporting company documents and other sources. The results of the study found that risk management has been implemented through four main pillars, namely identification, measurement, monitoring, and control, supported by the integration of information technology systems as an early warning system. The implementation of risk management has implications for maintaining the quality of financing, as reflected in the stability of the NPF ratio, which has consistently been in the very healthy category and well below the regulatory tolerance limit. In addition to impacting asset quality performance, the implementation of risk management also has implications for increased compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), the strengthening of the principle of prudence, and the formation of a more measurable and sustainable financing process in accordance with sharia principles.
