Abstract

The literacy rate in Indonesia has shown improvement; however, in percentage terms, the increase remains relatively low. One contributing factor is limited access to reading materials, including the suboptimal management of library collections. Masjid Raya Al-Iftitah in Pamulang serves not only as a place of worship but also as a center for religious activities, offering collections such as the Qur’an and physical books—yet they are not managed systematically. This creates difficulties in cataloging and utilization. Similar challenges are faced by many public libraries still relying on conventional systems. This study aims to develop a web-based Online Public Access Catalog (OPAC) system using a marketplace concept, integrating catalogs from multiple libraries and simplifying the cataloging process, including at Masjid Raya Al-Iftitah. The PIECES framework is used to identify system requirements, and the Waterfall model is applied for system development. Blackbox testing was conducted to ensure functionality. Results show that all features work as intended, improving library service efficiency. This digital system is expected to accelerate literacy growth by improving access to information, optimizing library management, and expanding the reach of library services to various institutions, communities, and the public.
