Abstract

Zakat collection in Indonesia continues to grow, especially with innovations in digitalization. However, even though the national zakat potential is estimated to reach IDR 327.6 trillion, the realization of zakat collection is still not optimal. According to BAZNAS data, the total collection of national zakat, infaq, and sadaqah in the final quarter of 2024 only reached IDR 40.5 trillion, less than 15% of the total potential. This study aims to analyze the penta helix collaboration model in collection activities and help evaluate and provide suggestions for ZIS collection strategies at LAZ Al Azhar. The research method used is descriptive qualitative. The results show that LAZ Al Azhar collaborates with academics in collection activities through educational seminars and student internship programs; with businesses through sustainable empowerment programs and funding sources from CSR, corporate zakat, employee zakat, digital payment facilities, and other charitable funds; the community through internal and external approaches of the foundation and reaching public spaces and community groups with the support of volunteers; the government strengthens legitimacy through regulations, amil certification, and empowerment program support; while the media provides easy access to digital payments and collaborates with influencers to expand the reach of campaigns. The strategy implemented by LAZ Al Azhar is focused on growth, which requires strengthening multi-stakeholder partnerships, increasing digital innovation, expanding community channels, deepening academic collaboration, and optimizing foundation resources so that ZIS collection can continue to increase sustainably.
