Abstract
Objective Previous studies have shown that smoking history and tumor markers such as CEA may play a role in reflecting the aggressiveness of colorectal adenocarcinoma. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the association between smoking history and serum Carcinoembryonic Antigen (CEA) levels with the degree of differentiation in patients with colorectal carcinoma.. Method This study is an analytical quantitative research with a cross-sectional design conducted at Persahabatan General Hospital, Jakarta. Secondary data were obtained from the medical records of colorectal adenocarcinoma patients from January 2023 to December 2024. The data were analyzed using univariate and bivariate methods with the Chi-Square test.. Result The total sample of this study was 69 patients. The p-value of smoking history with histological grade was 0.519 and the p-value of Carcinoembryonic antigen levels with histological grade was 0.202. Conclusion There is no relationship between smoking histpry and Carcinoembryonic antigen levels with histological grade of colorectal adenocarcinoma.
