Abstract
In the last two decades, there has been a lot of research related to market expansion carried out by companies from developed countries to developing countries and from developing countries to other developing countries. However, research related to market expansion by companies from emerging market countries to developed countries is still limited. Therefore, the author conducted a study on the export market expansion efforts of PT Semen Indonesia (Persero) Tbk as a company from an emerging market country to the United States as a developed country. The purpose of this study is to provide an analysis of the strategy used by PT Semen Indonesia (Persero) Tbk as an MNC from an emerging market to enter the developed country market, namely the United States, in 2021-2025. In this study, the author used the Linkage, Leverage, and Learning (LLL) framework to analyze the case studied. This research is qualitative using a case study approach. The data obtained in this study came from the results of interviews with research subjects and the official websites of related companies. The results of the study indicate that the strategy used by SIG in expanding its market to the United States is by making an alliance (linkage) with Taihayo Cement Corporation (TCC), followed by utilizing TCC's influence to reach the United States market, and internalizing the knowledge and experience (learning) obtained through the integration and utilization of the TCC network.
