Abstract

PHYSIOTHERAPY MANAGEMENT IN CASES OF LOW BACK PAIN ET CAUSA ISCHALGIA WITH MODALITAS TRANSCUTANEUS ELECTRICAL NERVE STIMULATION DAN WILLIAM FLEXION EXERCISE Rizky Hibatullah Abstract Background: Low Back Pain (LBP) et causa ischialgia is a common musculoskeletal complaint that can impair functional activities and reduce patients' quality of life. Physiotherapy management is essential to reduce pain, improve joint range of motion, muscle strength, and functional ability. Objective: This study aims to determine the effectiveness of physiotherapy management using Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation (TENS) and William Flexion Exercise in patients with LBP et causa ischialgia. Method: This research is a case report conducted at the Drug Dependency Hospital over a two-week period. The subject was a patient diagnosed with LBP ischialgia. Physiotherapy assessments included pain evaluation using the Visual Analog Scale (VAS), basic functional movement (PFGD), range of motion (ROM) measured with the Schober test and goniometer, muscle strength using Manual Muscle Testing (MMT), and functional ability using the Oswestry Disability Index (ODI). The interventions provided were TENS and William Flexion Exercise. Results: Post-intervention evaluation showed a decrease in pain intensity from moderate to mild, improvement in lumbar range of motion, increased trunk muscle strength, and a reduction in ODI score from moderate to mild disability. Conclusion: Physiotherapy interventions using TENS and William Flexion Exercise are effective in reducing pain, improving joint range of motion, muscle strength, and functional ability in patients with LBP et causa ischialgia.
