Abstract
Anemia is one of the most common nutritional problems in adolescent girls, caused by increased iron requirements during growth and menstruation. This condition can be affected by various factors, such as menstrual patterns, sleep quality, nutritional status, and micronutrient intake. This study aims to analyze the relationship between sleep quality, iron and vitamin B12 intake, upper arm circumference (LILA), nutritional status (IMT/U), and menstrual patterns with the incidence of anemia in adolescent girls at SMAN 2 Bogor City. This study used a cross-sectional design with a sample size of 102 respondents selected through purposive sampling. The results showed that 66.7% of respondents experienced anemia. Most of the respondents had normal nutritional status (68.6%), good LILA (57.3%), normal menstrual cycle (77.5%), normal menstrual duration (81.4%), poor sleep quality (61.8%), and deficient iron (66.7%) and vitamin B12 (100%) intake. The results of bivariate analysis with the chi-square test showed no significant relationship between nutritional status, LILA, sleep quality, menstrual patterns, and iron and vitamin B12 intake with the incidence of anemia (p> 0.05). Thus, it can be concluded that none of the factors studied in this study were significantly associated with the incidence of anemia.
