Abstract
Based on the 2023 DKI Jakarta SKI data, the prevalence of overweight status (BMI/A) in adolescents was 16.5% for ages 13–15 years (national average: 12.1%) and 14.4% for ages 16–18 years (national average: 8.8%). These figures indicate that overnutrition status in adolescents is still a significant concern. This study aims to examine the relationship between consumption of risky foods (sweet, salty, and fatty), sugar-sweetened beverages, fruits and vegetables, and sedentary lifestyle with overnutrition status among adolescents at SMA Negeri 109 Jakarta. This study used an observational analytical method with a cross-sectional design. The study population was 178 students with a sample of 132 students in grades X and XI using a purposive sampling technique. Statistical analysis was performed using the chi-square test and multiple logistic regression. Bivariate analysis showed a significant relationship between consumption of fatty foods (p = 0.027) and consumption of fruits and vegetables (p = 0.023) with overnutrition status. Multivariate analysis showed that fruit and vegetable consumption was the most influential variable (p = 0.000; AOR = 6.767; 95% CI: 2.355–19.449) on overnutrition status. These findings suggest that increased consumption of fruits and vegetables is recommended to reduce the risk of overnutrition.
