Abstract
Type II Diabetes Mellitus (T2DM) is a chronic metabolic disease, the prevalence of this disease continues to increase, especially in urban areas like DKI Jakarta. Various factors such as sociodemographic characteristics, Sugar-Sweetened Beverage (SSB) consumption, central obesity, and hypertension contribute to the rising incidence of T2DM. This study aims to analyze determinant factors associated with T2DM based on the doctor's diagnosis in the population aged 26-59 years in DKI Jakarta. This research is a quantitative, with a cross-sectional design using secondary data from the 2023 Indonesian Health Survey (SKI). The chi square test analysis showed that the variables age, SSB consumption and hypertension were related to the incidence of T2DM (p-value 0.000). Meanwhile, gender, education, occupation, and central obesity showed no significant relationship to incidence of T2DM (p-value > 0.05). Multivariate analysis using logistic regression test showed that the age variable was the strongest risk factor (p-value 0.000; AOR 4.241; 95% CI: 1.964 – 9.159). It hoped that this study can increased public awareness in maintaining an ideal body weight, managing blood pressure, reducing SSB intake and routinely conducting health checks to minimize the risk of T2DM, especially in respondents aged >45 years.
