Abstract

This research aims to determine the influence of humor on the closeness of friendships among members of Student Study Groups (KSM) within the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) at Universitas Pembangunan Nasional Veteran Jakarta. In student organizations, humor is believed to foster a pleasant atmosphere and strengthen interpersonal relationships. This research uses a quantitative method with a correlational approach. Data were collected through questionnaires distributed to 221 respondents, who were active members of the eight KSMs in FISIP UPN Veteran Jakarta. The data were analyzed using simple linear regression with the help of SPSS version 25. The results show that humor has a significant effect on friendship closeness, indicated by a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05 and a coefficient of determination of 0.329. This means that humor contributes 32.9% to explaining the closeness of friendship. Therefore, humor plays an important role in fostering more intimate and cohesive relationships within student study groups. Keywords: Humor, Closeness of Friendship, Student Study Group (KSM)
