Abstract
One of Indonesia's leading export commodities is Crude Palm Oil (CPO). Each year, Indonesia consistently ranks as the world’s largest producer of CPO. There are several economic variables that influence the fluctuations in Indonesia’s CPO export volume. In this study, the independent variables include Gross Domestic Product (GDP), exchange rate, and domestic consumption of Indonesian CPO. This research aims to analyze the factors influencing the volume of Indonesia’s CPO exports to its three main destination countries: India, China, and Pakistan, over the period from 2014 to 2023. A total of 30 observations are used in this study, based on secondary data obtained from the official websites of the World Bank, the Central Bureau of Statistics, and the United States Department of Agriculture. The analytical method applied is panel data regression analysis, with the Common Effect Model (CEM) chosen as the preferred model. The findings of this research indicate that: (1) GDP has a significantly negative effect on Indonesia’s CPO export volume to the three main destination countries; (2) the exchange rate also has a significantly negative effect on the export volume; and (3) domestic consumption of Indonesian CPO does not have a significant effect on the export volume. Simultaneously, the results show that the independent variables collectively influence the dependent variable.
