Abstract

Hypertension is one of the disorders in the cardiovascular system that is often dubbed the "silent killer" because it often goes on without obvious symptoms, but can cause dangerous complications. The adolescent group is classified as a population that is vulnerable to this condition, along with biological, emotional, and lifestyle changes that are still in the process of development. A less regular diet, low frequency of physical activity, and the habit of skipping breakfast are a number of factors that can increase the potential for high blood pressure at this age. This study aims to examine the relationship between breakfast routine and physical activity level on blood pressure in students at SMA Negeri 109 Jakarta. The research design used was cross-sectional, with a total of 214 participants in grade XI who were selected through stratified random sampling techniques. Data analysis was conducted using the Chi-Square test, which showed that there was a significant correlation between breakfast habits (p value = 0.000) and physical activity (p value = 0.000) on increased blood pressure in the adolescents studied.
