Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of work-life balance in mediating the influence of organizational culture and emotional intelligence on employee engagement among factory workers in Tapos District, Depok City. The phenomenon of low employee engagement in the manufacturing sector, high work pressure, and the imbalance between work and personal life highlights the need to strengthen human resource management strategies. This research employs a quantitative approach using a survey method involving 113 respondents from three manufacturing companies as the sample. The data analysis technique used is Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) based on SmartPLS 4.0. The results show that organizational culture, emotional intelligence, and work-life balance have a significant positive effect on employee engagement. Furthermore, organizational culture does not significantly influence work-life balance, while emotional intelligence has a significant negative effect on work-life balance. Additionally, work-life balance is not proven to mediate the influence of organizational culture and emotional intelligence on employee engagement. These findings indicate that an adaptive organizational culture and the enhancement of emotional intelligence can improve employee engagement, especially when supported by policies that promote work-life balance.
