Abstract
Lung vital capacity is a key indicator for assessing respiratory function. Street vendors in the Gunung Putri District typically work in open environments, exposing them to dust, vehicle emissions, and other environmental risk factors that may affect lung performance. This study aims to explore various factors associated with the lung vital capacity of these vendors, including age, duration of work, gender, smoking habits, medical history, and exposure to dust. A cross-sectional design was applied, involving 68 participants selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using questionnaires, dust concentration measurements with a Dust Particle Meter, and lung function assessments via spirometry. Bivariate analysis revealed significant associations between gender (p=0.011), medical history (p=0.023), and dust exposure (p=0.048) with lung vital capacity. Meanwhile, age, length of employment, and smoking habits did not show statistically significant relationships. The findings suggest that both individual health conditions and environmental factors—particularly dust exposure—play a role in influencing the lung vital capacity of street vendors.
