Abstract
Diarrhea remains a major health issue in the world. Cilodong saw the highest number of diarrhea cases among under-five children in Depok City in 2023. This study aimed to determine the factors related to the incidence of diarrhea in under-five children in the Cilodong Health Center work area in 2025. This study was a quantitative study using a cross-sectional design. A total of 104 mothers with under-five children were selected as respondents by using a simple random sampling technique. The study was conducted in the Cilodong Health Center work area in May—June 2025. Data were analyzed using the chi-square, fisher exact, and cox regression tests. Data collection was undertaken using questionnaires and observation sheets. The results showed that the incidence of diarrhea in under-five children was 33 of 104 (31.7%). There was a significant relationship between the physical quality of water as an environmental factor (p-value=0.035) and diarrhea incidents in under-five children. There was no association between individual, behavioral, and other environmental factors with diarrhea incidents in under-five children. It is recommended to carry out a filtration or sedimentation process first so that the solids in the water can be separated and the water is safe to use.
