Abstract

Indonesia is a tropical country that has three seasonal cycles including dry season, transitional season, and rainy season. Transitional season is an unstable weather condition between two months. Transitional season can hinder people's activities outside and inside the house. Drying clothes is one of the activities of people that is very dependent on the weather, with the transitional season and hindering other work outside the home, drying clothes is hampered because people have to regularly maintain their clothes. Smart clothesline innovation with Android control system is here as a solution to this problem. Smart clothesline automatically goes out and in according to the weather in the environment based on input from light sensors and rain sensors. Data from the sensor is stored in the Firebase database as a bridge between the smart clothesline and the Android application so that the two components can communicate well. Android-based applications are used as media that can make it easier for users to control and monitor smart clotheslines. In addition, weather change data is also stored in the Firebase database, so that users can find out actual weather changes on the Android application. The innovation of smart clotheslines with an Android control system is also one of the uses of the Internet of Things (IoT) in everyday life.
