Abstract
Traumatic brain injury (TBI) can lead to decreased consciousness and hemodynamic instability. This study aimed to analyze the effects of auditory stimulation using familiar voices on blood pressure, mean arterial pressure (MAP), and the level of consciousness in brain injury patients admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). The intervention involved playing recorded family voice messages for the patients twice a day during their ICU stay. The results indicated that auditory stimulation using familiar voices may influence blood pressure, although the effects were temporary and varied among individuals. MAP showed a positive downward trend, likely due to modulation of the autonomic nervous system specifically, reduced sympathetic activity and increased parasympathetic activity, resulting in vasodilation and lower blood pressure. Additionally, consistent improvement was observed in Glasgow Coma Scale (GCS) scores, including eye-opening, motor, and verbal responses. These findings support the potential of familiar voice stimulation as a supportive nursing intervention to enhance consciousness recovery and stabilize hemodynamic parameters in patients with brain injury Keywords : Familiar Auditory Stimulation, ICU, Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI)
