Abstract
Gouty arthritis is a very painful type of arthritis that generally results from recurrent bouts of pain due to high levels of uric acid in the body. In Indonesia, the number of people affected by this condition continues to grow every year. Family is the smallest element in society that consists of individuals who are connected by blood, marriage, or adoption and live together in one house. Families play an important role in maintaining and improving the health of their members by providing emotional, social and physical support and care. This is strongly related to unhealthy lifestyles, such as eating foods that contain a lot of purines and the lack of public understanding of this disease. This study aims to describe the nursing care provided to Mr. J's family, especially Mr. J. J's family, especially to Mr. J who suffers from gouty arthritis. J who suffers from gouty arthritis, in the RT 005 RW 007 area, Limo Village, Depok City. The research design used is descriptive with a case study method, including the stages of assessment, determination of nursing diagnosis, scoring, action planning, implementation of interventions, to the nursing evaluation stage. The results of this study identified several nursing problems, such as family health management that is not optimal due to the family's lack of ability to recognize the health conditions of their family members. Other problems found.
