Abstract

NURSING CARE FOR PATIENTS WITH PNEUMONIA AND INEFFECTIVE AIRWAY CLEARANCE PROBLEM AT RSUD KHIDMAT SEHAT AFIAT, DEPOK CITY Silvy Sayidatunisa Abstract Background: Pneumonia is a serious life-threatening infection, especially in developing countries, some patients may experience several complications such as (sepsis), lung abscess, pleural effusion, and difficulty breathing, leading to death. Objective: This study aims to explore nursing care for pneumonia patients with a focus on the problem of ineffective airway clearance. Method: The method used in this study is a case study of a sample of one patient with pneumonia. The interventions carried out include effective coughing techniques, positioning, and nebulizer therapy. Results: From the assessment, the author found 3 nursing problems, namely ineffective airway clearance, ineffective breathing patterns, and activity intolerance. After being given nursing interventions with effective coughing exercises, respiratory monitoring, airway management, and energy management, the results showed that all nursing problems could be resolved. Nursing care with pneumonia with nursing problems in Mr. Holistic nursing care with a nursing process approach can improve the condition of patients with pneumonia.
