Abstract
Abstract This study will discuss the power relationship between the Prosperous Justice Party and the village head of Bojong Kulur in building an independent village. During this relationship process, Bojong Kulur village received various programs and assistance in the development of Bojong Kulur village as an independent village. Starting from assistance from the used cooking oil utilization program, education, to the procurement of rubber boats and CCTV. This relationship has helped a lot in the development of Bojong Kulur village. However, on the other hand, this relationship also eliminates the cultural practices of the community that have been believed in for a long time. In the past, every month of Ramadan, the community always performed a ritual of slaughtering buffaloes and then burying them and spreading them throughout the village. This cultural practice is considered not in line with the vision of the Prosperous Justice Party and the village head of Bojong Kulur who have high Islamic values. In the end, this cultural practice was eliminated since the current leadership of Bojong Kulur village because it was considered to be leading to superstition. In practice, both of them apply a power relationship in leading Bojong Kulur village. The Power To and Power Over relations are two things that are done simultaneously by both of them in building Bojong Kulur village. On the one hand, the relationship can empower the community through the programs that are run, but on the other hand, it eliminates the community development that has been carried out.
