Abstract

This study examines the role of the Indonesian Election Supervisory Body (Bawaslu) as an adjudicative institution in resolving election disputes, specifically in the political party registration verification process for the 2024 General Election. Employing descriptive qualitative research and case study methods, this research explores the challenges faced by Bawaslu in executing its adjudicative functions, including technical and political obstacles. Findings reveal that despite Bawaslu’s role as an independent quasi-judicial body, multiple issues hinder the achievement of electoral justice in each decision-making process. Factors such as regulatory complexity, political pressure, and technical uncertainties impede the realization of ideal electoral justice. The study recommends strengthening Bawaslu's independence and improving the dispute resolution mechanisms to better adapt to shifting political dynamics.
